Cell Phones for Soldiers
Drop off your unwanted old cell phones, beginning Feb.16th, at designated drop off locations. In return, for each cell phone donated a 100 minute prepaid phone card is sent to a soldier overseas. The cell phones can also be picked up from you, if needed. For additionall information, you can call Linda Sue Barker at Bandera Title Company 830-796-4870.
Drop off locations are: Bandera Title Company, Bandera Bank, Hondo National Bank, Bandera 1st State Bank, Bandera County Courthouse, Bandera Library & Post Office.
Cowboy Capital Opry
Bandera Senior Center - 1st Tuesday of every month at the Silver Sage (803 Buckcreek Rd) in Bandera. The show begins at 7pm. If you want some good clean fun in a smoke-free, alcohol-free environment, this is the place for you. Bring the kids. Admission is only $5 and you can bring the whole family for just $12. All the performers are volunteers and the proceeds go to Meals on Wheels!
Do You Hope to Find Treasure in your Trash? Your invited to the Gillespie County Historical Society's "What's It Worth?" event on Friday & Saturday, March 19 & 20 in Fredericksburg. The Pioneer Museum will have six independent appraisers on hand to appraise furniture, paintings, sculpture, art, prints, photographs, books, silver, toys, guns, knives & western memorabilia. The event will work similar to the popular TV appraisal show. There are 2 opportunities to submit items. On Friday, March 19 from 6:30 - 9pm, guests can attend a music, wine, & cheese preview at the church sanctuary of the Pioneer Museum, 312 West San Antonio St, Fredericksburg. Fee for members is $30; non-members $35. Entry includes one appraisal, with additional items appraised for $10 each. The public is invited on Saturday, March 20 from 9am - 2pm. Each item to be appraised is $10, with no limit on the number of items.
American Cancer Society's Bark For Life, a canine event to fight cancer will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010. 9am - 1pm at the River Star Arts & Event Park. Sighn up today! First 150 registrations receive a free Bark for Life doggie bandana!
